ABATE of Indiana, motorcycle rider education and licensing
ABATE is proud to be serving the
motorcyclists of Indiana with quality, award winning
rider education for over 30 years. Started in 1977, ABATE of Indiana took the initiative to bring formal motorcycle rider
education to the state with highly-skilled instructors and nationally recognized curriculum, winning praise from our students each year.
ABATE operates facilities throughout the state, training between 5,000 and 7,500 students annually. More than 100,000 individuals have been trained since the program’s inception.
In 2005, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles asked ABATE to assume the responsibility of motorcycle license examinations. This move saved the state money, opened more facilities, expanded the schedule, and enhanced the testing experience for motorcyclists by having skilled riders implement the exam.
